Achieving development requires balancing within the city, which manifests itself in the form of spatial justice in the city. Establishing social justice and consequently, spatial justice is the solution to many shortcomings and anomalies in the city. It can be acknowledged that spatial justice is the result of all aspects of justice, including social, economic, environmental, etc., and therefore to achieve it, justice must be established in all other areas, and to achieve spatial justice, the authorities Locals and people must work together in cooperation. Urban public spaces also play an important role in the process of formation of events and activities that take place within them, as well as in creating distinctions or social unity and separations or social connections, and the need to pay attention to such spaces becomes more apparent.
With the increase in the population of cities, development has increased to the outskirts of the city, and this has reduced the efficiency of the old texture of cities, which can affect its public spaces and reduce their efficiency, and this intensifies the weakening of spatial justice in these textures. This study is to prevent the destruction of public spaces of old neighborhoods, in this case, the Teyeb neighborhood is located in the 15th district of Tehran Municipality. The probability of leaving the neighborhood, enjoying the neighborhood, and feeling of belonging to the neighborhood had the lowest score and desirability among other neighborhoods in Tehran. Currently, this neighborhood is facing various physical, economic,
and social problems and the emphasis of this research is on the approach of spatial justice to its public spaces.
This research is of applied type and its method is descriptive, survey, and analytical. For this purpose, the principles of the spatial justice approaches were studied and among them, 4 criteria and 17 indicators were identified to identify the study area based on them and using participatory observation and completing a questionnaire and information about the municipality and the neighborhood facilitation office. To measure these 17 indicators, statistical methods , as well as descriptive analyzes , were used using GIS maps and SWOT tables. Then, the efficiency of public spaces in the Tayeb neighborhood was examined, and the results indicate that in the current situation, public spaces in the Tayeb neighborhood are inefficient. Then, using the principles of the space justice approach, strategies and policies and executive plans to redesign the public spaces of Teyeb neighborhood according to responsive policies of the space justice approach that include connection-based, location-based, and people-based, were identified. Finally, the proposed designs were presented in the form of drawings.
