Supply chains have been affected by the coronavirus both nationally and internationally, and the food supply chain is no exception to the effects of this disruptive pandemic. Therefore, redesigning the food supply chain is critical given the effects of Covid-19. Moreover, due to the widespread prevalence of coronavirus, this epidemic has also had economic, social, and environmental impacts, which with systemic thinking and Nexus, can understand the interaction of different factors on each other. In addition, having an overview and considering other food-related factors such as energy, waste, and water makes supply chain design more effective. In this dissertation, considering the link between food, energy, water, and waste, a sustainable food supply chain is designed. In order to optimize this supply chain, a multi-objective mathematical model is presented considering the effects of the coronavirus outbreak. The objectives of the model include maximizing profits, minimizing the environmental effects of carbon emissions, and minimizing product delivery times. In this model, due to the increase in online shopping during the pandemic period, the sale of two channels, online and in-person, is considered; the demands function depends on the price of products in each channel and also the prevalence of coronavirus in the areas. Different areas in this study are divided into two categories of high risk and low risk, which indicates the prevalence of coronavirus in these areas. Distribution centers located in high-risk areas also need to disinfect products to minimize the spread of coronavirus and perform their social duties, including the amount of water consumed and sanitary waste produced. On the other hand, the type of vehicle is determined in this model to minimize not only the environmental impacts but also the delivery time. Finally, the case study shows that the prevalence of coronavirus is very effective in the food supply chain, and the proposed model for the food supply chain, in addition to maximizing profits, has performed its social mission by disinfecting products as well as water consumption, and control the production of waste from the disinfection of products; On the other hand, choosing the type of vehicle minimizes the amount of energy consumed and the amount of carbon emitted to achieve environmental goals. In addition to the results, managerial insights are provided to improve the food supply chain by considering the link between food, energy, water, and waste with the effects of the coronavirus outbreak.
