In transportation models, it is the activity plan of individuals and their characteristics that make their travel-related journeys and behaviors. Considering every person individually and without considering their role in the household and the effects of other household members on them reduces the accuracy and validity of transportation models and their implementation in practice may encounter problems. Therefore, transportation studies today are moving towards using the family as the decision-making unit instead of the individual. In this study, two separate models were developed, both of which considered this issue. The information used in this study was from a Washington household survey. The models are multinomial logistics that the daily activity pattern of individuals is once considered to form a chain of travel of individuals using the family activity plan and again for jont travel of households to the utility of possible options for each Individual and household are calculated and compared with other options. The model of travel chain formation with seven objectives of activity including "work, education, escort, personal business, shopping, meal and social / recreational" and with variables in different categories including "type of people, age group, household income, family composition, gender / child "and the second model, the model of joint travel model with three types of activity patterns" forced, non-forced and staying at home "and taking into account the interactions of family members at three levels" individual, two and three people "and finally, the effect of individual and family variables and characteristics in each of these models was analyzed and it was observed that in the models, each of these parameters significantly affects the utility and choices of individuals and households. Certainly, this kind of family and interactional attitude will have a significant impact on the realism of the models and, as a result, progress and development in the transportation sector.
