Abstract:
Some applications require temporary structures that can be quickly erected and deconstructed. Such as post-traumatic accommodation, refugee camps around the world, temporary shops or exhibitions, temporary medical facilities, temporary accommodation, temporary research camps, pavilions, and the like. These applications mainly consist of a basic single-cell space (which can also be replicated) and have several common features; Including stability and stability in the structure, ductility in the final form, possibility of development, the possibility of change of use, ability to provide sufficient comfort and confinement for housing, variety of architectural extensions, ease of implementation, economy, environmental compatibility, security, and safety. With the mentioned features for the above single-cell applications, solutions for their design have been proposed. Among these solutions, modular and prefabricated structures can be suitable options according to their background. Modular and prefabricated systems have been common for many years and have been implemented on a large, medium, and small scale. These prefabricated structures, in addition to providing the features mentioned in the aforementioned uses, have a high speed of erection and also provide easy transportation. Large and medium scale modular systems, in addition to their advantages, also have problems and limitations in Iran; These include the need for heavy machinery and equipment, the need for specialized manpower, complex construction and installation technology, and in general, cases that due to the need to reduce costs, the impassability of most roads and the frequent need to build and deconstruct this Structures reduce their efficiency. Small-scale modular systems, on the other hand, have fewer limitations in this regard. These systems can be deconstructed and set up, and their components can be designed to be light, simple, and malleable by using new techniques and methods. This will lead to easier transportation, lower costs, and easier installation and deconstruction of the structure. Accordingly, the present study intends to design a spatial structure as a basic space cell for the above uses, using modular systems based on small-scale components. This base cell, due to its design based on small-scale modular components, can achieve the desired properties in this type of application.
