Utilization of resources including water, energy, etc. should be balanced and in line with meeting the needs of the present generation and paying attention to the needs of future generations, which is sustainable development. On the other hand, the expansion of cities is a challenge to achieve the goals of sustainable development. In this regard, eva‎luating resource consumption and providing appropriate policies to protect resources is so important. With the growth of population and the expansion of consumer goods, we are facing an increase in demand for a higher quality of life for households. The most part of water, energy and food consumption in cities can be attributed to household consumption and can also be the most appropriate unit to influence consumption patterns. In this study by using this approach and focusing on the amount of water and energy consumption in household appliances in Tehran, based on standards, the latest results of energy consumption statistics of urban households in 2016 by the average method were assessed. The eva‎luation is eva‎luated and while examining the average per capita consumption of each household in the current situation and comparing it with different options in the optimal situation, the amount of water and energy storage is provided with solutions to reduce water and energy consumption for each device. At the end, a management plan and policy options were presented to balance exchanges and maximize water efficiency in the domestic sector to achieve sustainable development. This research is conducted with the following objectives and is reported in this thesis: - Determining the current amount of household water and energy consumption in Tehran (electricity and gas. -Determining the maximum and average water / energy consumption from the consumer's perspective to find a suitable strategy for a rational consumption pattern. -eva‎luate the impact of new technologies and efficiency improvement programs on water and energy consumption -Assessing the amount of carbon dioxide emissions by households -Planning and policy-making between departments and organizations involved to achieve a common ground.
