According to the above, important and key concepts have been defined in the theoretical foundations section of this research. According to the definition of a certain Persian culture, a child means small, minor and a child who has not reached maturity. In this research, based on summarizing the definitions of children in different sources, the title of child has been assigned to immature people aged 3 to 12 years. In the following, after explaining the indicators and influential components in the design of a child-friendly city, the principles of ecology were discussed. Ecologicalism in urban design is an approach that pays special attention to the culture of the people of the region, climate, weather and special materials that are used in that region. In the final part of the theoretical foundations, a review of previous researches in the field of child-friendly city design and environmentalism, as well as domestic and foreign successful experiences, has been discussed. To achieve the objectives of the research and answer the questions, the AHP method was used to measure the opinion of experts, the method of theme analysis and drawing technique to measure the opinion of children, and the SWOT analysis method was used to measure the situation of the selected neighborhood. The most important sub-criteria affecting the design of a child-friendly city with an ecological approach are children's safety, the state of parks, air pollution and noise pollution, and the presence of a view from the window. Also, the study of the opinions of 3-6 year old children shows the importance of natural elements, health, play space, accessibility and activities that suit children's needs. In the data obtained from children's interviews, the most important components of a child-friendly city are natural elements, security, the existence of activities suitable for children and health. Therefore, to design a successful child-friendly neighborhood, it is important to pay attention to the needs and tastes of children and observe the correct principles of urban planning. In this research, suggestions have been made in order to improve the most important components in transforming the neighborhood of Semnan Cooperative into a child-friendly neighborhood with an ecological approach.
