One of the most important challenges in the world today is the increase in the elderly population. United Nations associations and the World Health Organization indicate that by 2030, the elderly population in the world will increase from 9% to 16% and in Iran from 6.5% to 17.5%. Old age is one of the most important periods of human life. Today's residences are not suitable for the elderly and affect their physical and mental health, thus leading to harm such as reduced social activities, reduced self-esteem, and reduced vitality. The main goal of this research is to find solutions for the design of housing architecture to improve services for the elderly. At first, by reviewing the literature on the subject, vitality and housing for the elderly, physical influencing factors on the vitality of the elderly were identified. Then, with the descriptive method, the extracted components became the basis for developing the researcher's questionnaire. After that, the above questionnaire was given to 114 elderly people. In this step, a survey research method was used. Then, using Friedman and Shannon tests, ranking and weighting of the components was done. Then, using the correlation method, the relationship between the components was investigated. The results show that the components of "connection with nature" with an importance coefficient of "0.0265" and an average Friedman rating of "26.87", "comfort" with an importance coefficient of "0.0265" and an average Friedman rating of "26.49", "security" with The significance coefficient of "0.0264" and Friedman's mean rank of "25.59" are more important from the perspective of the elderly. In relation to the high correlation between connection with nature and security, it can be mentioned that the elderly first need to feel secure in order to be in nature and connect with green space. In the components of comfort and security, the first priority of correlation is readability. The importance of the first component is due to the interest of the elderly to be in a green environment and, as a result, better communication with their surroundings. Also, in the examination of the "comfort" component, which is placed in the second place, it is possible to point out the importance of the existence of good air and comfort of the space, to meet the physical needs to feel more comfortable and, as a result, to increase the vitality of the elderly. The third rank, which belongs to the security component, shows that it is necessary to pay attention to architectural design that can create a sense of security in the elderly. Other effective components in order of priority are "sense of belonging", "diversity", "color", "social interactions", "presence", "accessibility", "readability", "identity", "beauty", "learnability". and "flexibility".
