بر اساس برخي مطالعات، حدود 80 درصد از بيماران بستري در بيمارستان، تزريق داخل سياهرگ دريافت مي‌كنند. در واقع، اگرچه اين نوع تزريق به عنوان يك رويداد عادي در نظر گرفته مي‌شود، اما عوارض مربوط به آن‌ها اغلب ناشناخته است. برخي از عوارض پزشكي مرتبط ناشي از تزريق‌هاي ناموفق مي‌توانند عفونت باكتريايي، التهاب، ترومبوز، آمبولي يا آسيب عصبي باشند. علاوه بر موارد گفته شده، در بعضي مواقع انتخاب مناسب ترين رگ از تزريق مناسب هم مهم تر است. بنابر موارد گفته شده توسعه يك سيستم مناسب براي كمك به پيدا كردن رگ‌ها و انتخاب بهترين رگ، بسيار مفيد و ضروري مي‌باشد. در اين پروژه هدف ما طراحي و ساخت سيستم اپتيكي و بيهنه سازي آن به كمك پردازش تصوير براي به تصوير كشيدن رگ‌هاي بدن و بررسي مزاياي بالقوه اين سيستم مي باشد.

Design and construction of optical vein finder

According to some studies, about 80% of hospitalized patients receive intravenous injections. Although this type of injection is considered a normal event, the complications associated with it are often unknown. Some related medical complications from failed injections can be a bacterial infection, inflammation, thrombosis, embolism, or nerve damage. In addition to the mentioned cases, sometimes choosing the most suitable vessel is more important than the right injection. According to the mentioned cases, it is very useful and necessary to develop a suitable system to help find veins and choose the best vein. In this project, our goal is to design and build an optical system and make it optimal with the help of image processing to depict the veins of the body and investigate the potential benefits of this system.
