The school is described as an educational and developmental environment that plays a significant role not only in imparting academic knowledge and skills but also in the social growth and development of students. Current school designs and architectures often lack a dynamic approach, rarely considering the school as a vibrant environment where interactions and learning occur beyond the classroom, with academic achievement often prioritized over social development. Yet, the importance of schools in preventing social issues stemming from conflicts between certain behaviors and prevailing societal values has been recognized. The role of space and architectural design in the social development of students has been demonstrated, and deficiencies in current school designs highlight the importance of adopting an architectural approach focused on the social development of students. This research is based on an approach that considers space and architectural design as influential factors on human behavior and actions; hence, it aims to examine the impact of school environment architecture on the development and enhancement of students' social skills and to extract and eva‎luate architectural indicators affecting this. This study follows a qualitative nature; in the present study, in the first stage, a review of literature was conducted to identify and extract the components of social skills enhancement and influential architectural indicators. In the second stage, in-depth interviews were conducted with five high school students, and the identified components and indicators were combined and clarified. Finally, through content analysis and using questionnaires completed by 40 high school female students, the components and indicators of architecture influencing the enhancement of students' social skills were eva‎luated and examined. In eva‎luating the impact of various types, organizations, elements and spatial relationships on the development of social skills, the flexibility and multifunctionality of spaces, the connection and coherence between open and closed spaces, the existence of a spectrum of private to public spaces and spaces inducing permanence compared to movement spaces, will be influential in enhancing social skills. The results of this eva‎luation indicate the importance of diversity in learning environments in the development of social skills. Also, based on the obtained results and principles, a school has been designed in the Zibashahr district of Chabahar.
