Petroluem sludge, which is the waste from the bottom of crude petroluem storage tanks, is one of the waste materials that can be very useful in the paving industry. This caused petroluem sludge to be used as a part of bitumen and instead of it in the construction of road pavements due to its similar properties to bitumen. In the past, research has been done on petroluem sludge, so that this substance has caused the fluidity and reduction of the mixing temperature and density of bitumen, as well as reducing the rutting resistance and increasing the fatigue resistance of asphalt mixtures, as well as reducing the percentage of optimized bitumen. For this research, amounts of 5, 10, 15, and 20 percent by weight of bitumen, petroluem sludge were added to pure bitumen with a penetration degree of 60-70, and laboratory research was carried out considering pure bitumen as a control sample. Aggregate and filler used in making asphalt mixtures are of lime type. Thus, the tests of Marshall mixing design, degree of penetration, softening point, ductility, rotational viscosity, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), resilient modulus, dynamic creep, indirect tensile strength (ITS), ratio of resilient modulus and Texas boiling water on bitumen and Asphalt mixes have been done. This material has reduced the percentage of optimal bitumen, increased the degree of penetration and softening point of bitumen, reduced the elasticity of bitumen, reduced mixing and compaction temperatures, and improved flowability. Also, the results of FTIR and SEM tests show the hydrocarbon structure, high oiliness and anti-aging performance of this material, and manual mixing of the additive with bitumen is acceptable.No effect on the modulus of elasticity of the mixture up to 10% of petroluem sludge and a decrease of 870 MPa at 15% additive, an increase in rutting resistance by 7164 in the mental number at 15% of petroluem sludge, an increase in the RMR ratio by 10.3% up to 15% The percentage of petroluem sludge and the lack of effect on the TSR ratio up to 15% additive are the results of the experiments. The optimal percentage of using this material is 15% according to all the tests.
