Light and architecture are connected subjects. Throughout the past, architects have realized the importance of light in architecture and have devised clever ways to use light in buildings. In Iranian architecture, light is not used in a single way; Rather, it has been used in different ways. In this research, an attempt is made to investigate the effect of climate on the way of receiving light and the solutions adopted accordingly. In order to achieve this purpose, the ways of dealing with light in residential houses in hot and dry climates are discussed with the method of logical reasoning research using analytical descriptive technique and based on the study of library sources after explaining the theoretical foundations of the subject. The expected result is to extract practical principles in this climatic region.. Since residential spaces are the most important and also the most complex spaces in which humans respond to their needs, the parameter of light has been included in a residential space and a 120-unit complex in the region of Tehran. Also, by examining the methods of lighting design in the areas of the location of the building on the site, the volume of the building, the ways of light entering it and the systems that improve the quality of daylight, a model for achieving the maximum enjoyment of natural light in the design of residential complexes is provided. Therefore, the current studies are organized in six chapters, in the first chapter, the framework and generalities of the research are discussed, and its content includes the statement of the problem, necessity and importance of the subject, general and partial goals, questions and methods of the project. The second chapter covers the theoretical foundations of the plan in detail, which includes the terminology and history of the subject and the description of the theoretical factors related to the plan. In the third chapter, which is called the examination of examples and examples in the research, two internal and two external examples of residential complexes have been investigated. In the fourth chapter, it examines the geographical location and climate analysis, and also introduces the building and its location analysis, in the fifth chapter, it presents the standards and physical planning of the mandatory micro-spaces of this complex, and finally, the chapter The sixth explains in detail the most important issues raised in the studies and the formation process of the proposed plan along with its documents.
