A supply chain consists of two or more organizations that are interconnected through the flows of materials, parts, final products, or services such as distribution, warehousing, wholesale, and retail. Given that each member of the supply chain aims to enhance its ability to dominate the target market and influence the overall policies of the chain, one of the key concepts in supply chain relationships is the concept of power. Power is a central element in supply chain relationships. It is often defined as the ability of one party to impose its will on another. In supply chain relationships, this term can be used to describe one party’s attempt to claim a larger share of the value generated in the exchange between two companies. If a company, as a member of the supply chain, controls the necessary resources for another company within the same chain, it can be said that this member holds power, and the other members will follow its lead. The role of the supply chain in achieving competitiveness in various industries, including the automotive industry, has garnered significant attention from researchers in recent years, with the automotive industry being considered one of the key industries in the development indices of countries. Therefore, it is essential to examine the determining factors of power within the automotive supply chain and its member companies. The objective of this research is to explore and identify the factors affecting the power of the automotive supply chain and its members in the automotive industry. In the first phase of this study, using the DEMATEL method, we demonstrated the power relationships among the supply chain members. Iran Khodro, as the main company, has the highest D value, making it the most influential factor. Smaller suppliers hold the highest R value, indicating they are the most influenced factors. Moreover, Iran Khodro, the main company, has the highest D+R value, meaning it has the most interactions with other system factors. In the second phase of this research, using covariance-based methods in structural equations through Smart PLS software, the factors influencing the power of each variable were identified separately.
