In this thesis, first an introduction is given about the reason for the popularity of electric vehicles and the importance of using fast chargers. The charging time of electric vehicles becomes important when it is compared with the refueling time of fossil fuel-based vehicles. Therefore, today, due to the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, efforts have been made to provide fast chargers by improving performance and overcoming the challenges of previous designs. Therefore, in this thesis, a chapter is dedicated to explaining the structure of fast charging stations, the converters that can be used in them, and introducing the best-selling electric cars in the world. Among the structures explained, the resonant structure is used in the converter presented in this research. The main advantage of this design is the provision of a layout to reduce the voltage stress of the switches. In addition, the presented converter has advantages such as soft switching throughout the entire battery charging and discharging period, operation at a fixed frequency, easy control, wide output voltage range, bidirectional power transfer capability, no circulating current, high reliability and efficiency. The different parts of the circuit, the design method, and its operation for both power transfer modes from the network to the device and vice versa are explained in the third chapter. The presented converter is simulated in the PLECS software and its results are presented. A laboratory sample of this converter has also been made. Considerations for construction, including the construction of transformers and inductors, as well as the necessary points for selecting circuit elements, are explained in detail. Finally, the results of the constructed sample are also presented in practice, and soft switching has been realized in both power transfer modes from the network to the device and vice versa. Finally, in order to show the advantages and disadvantages of the presented design, in addition to presenting a table of advantages and disadvantages, a comparison with similar designs is also made and suggestions are made to improve this design.
