With the rapid advancement of the construction industry and the growing demand for efficient and functional spaces, conventional construction methods can no longer fully meet the diverse needs of users in changing conditions and environments. Population growth, urban expansion, and rapid changes in residential and commercial requirements have created a pressing need for optimized and flexible spatial solutions. These spaces must be capable of changing in form and size to be efficiently utilized across various temporal and spatial conditions.
In this context, designing structures that can easily adapt to different user needs has become a fundamental necessity. As a result, expandable structures have emerged as an effective solution in this field. Due to their flexibility, scalability, and the ability to open, close, and be relocated with ease, such structures offer the possibility of creating multi-functional spaces.
This study proposes a design for portable sliding expandable structures as a solution for creating adaptable and deployable architecture, aiming to improve production speed and quality, spatial efficiency, and user responsiveness. Key considerations in this project include ease of transportation, elimination of complex installation, no requirement for heavy machinery or specialized labor, and attention to the final construction cost.
