The car industry, as one of the major propellers of national an‎d global economies, is influenced by major external factors such as political, economical, social, technological, environmental, an‎d legal aspects. It is important to study these factors for organizational survival an‎d growth. This research is useful in the context that it identifies an‎d investigates the implications of the macro-environment on the operational performance of auto companies, particularly in Iranʹs dynamic an‎d turbulent environmental setting. It is intended to present a scientific model for managing external variables an‎d enhancing strategic decision-making in Saipaʹs Sazegostar Company with a vision for supporting the economic sustainability an‎d competitiveness of the industry. Methodologically, the study is descriptive-survey in nature an‎d applied in terms of its purpose, seeking to make the findings operationally applicable to the auto sector of Iran. The statistical population of the study was comprised of 104 managers, specialists, an‎d experts of Sazegostar Saipa, an‎d data collection was carried out through stan‎dardized questionnaires an‎d semi-structured interviews. To construct the questionnaire, the respective indicators were identified through literature review an‎d expert interviews first, an‎d then screening was conducted. The analysis was done through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of Smart PLS software, an‎d the validity an‎d reliability of the research instruments were confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis an‎d Cronbachʹs alpha. The findings indicate that external (PESTEL) factors overall have a significant impact on operational performance, with only legal factors having a statistically significant effect, while political, economic, social, technological, an‎d environmental dimensions were not. This research contributes by the novelty of proposing feasible solutions—such as empowerment of legal departments, training of staff, an‎d utilization of technology to monitor regulations—an‎d by presenting one of the few complete PESTEL analyses conducted in Iranʹs automotive sector to support fact-based strategic decision-making.
