Abstract
In today’s data-driven economy, organizations require rapid and informed decision-making to remain competitive. Traditional Business Intelligence (BI) systems—reliant on historical, batch-processed data—often fail to provide the immediacy demanded by dynamic markets. This study investigates the methodologies and adoption of Real-Time Business Intelligence (RTBI) and its integration with data warehouse systems to enhance business agility, responsiveness, and operational efficiency. Using a quantitative survey-based approach targeting IT managers and business executives across multiple industries, the research explores three main dimensions: (1) the most commonly adopted RTBI tools and platforms, (2) the technical and organizational challenges encountered during implementation, and (3) the effectiveness of RTBI in improving the speed and quality of decision-making. The findings highlight that RTBI systems—powered by real-time ETL pipelines, stream processing, and in-memory databases—significantly enhance business performance by enabling proactive rather than reactive strategies. However, challenges such as infrastructure requirements, data consistency, and organizational readiness remain major barriers to full implementation. The study contributes to both academic and practical understanding by offering empirical insights and recommendations for selecting appropriate RTBI solutions, fostering data-driven culture, and achieving scalable, sustainable real-time analytics across industries.
