چکيده
Network designs are changing from rigid, hardware-based models to more flexible, software- based architectures like Software-Defined Networking (SDN). As cloud computing, large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) deployments, and the strict requirements of 5G/6G networks become more common, traditional networks with distributed control planes and vendor-specific configurations are having a harder time keeping up. This study looks at SDN as a way to fix the problems with old designs, like how they donʹt scale well, canʹt be programmed, and cost a lot to run. SDN separates the control and data planes, which lets centralized intelligence and programmability handle network traffic and enforce policies in real time. This study gives an evidence-based evaluation of SDN by using a systematic literature research and a comparison of peer-reviewed studies, technical whitepapers, and real-world case studies. The results are meant to give network engineers and architects a clear idea of how to use SDN to solve the problems that come up in todayʹs complicated digital environments.
