  • چکيده
The presentation goes into detail about Ascon, the NIST-approved stan‎dard for lightweight cryptography, an‎d how important it is for keeping the Internet of Things (IoT) safe. Lightweight cryptography is an important solution since typical cryptographic algorithms like AES an‎d RSA do not work well on devices that have limited processing power, memory, an‎d battery. The paper explains how Asconʹs architecture works. It is constructed on a 320-bit permutation-based sponge construction that makes it very secure, easy to use, an‎d uses very little energy. It critically assesses Asconʹs design attributes, performance across several hardware an‎d software platforms, an‎d its relative benefits against other NIST finalists, including TinyJAMBU, GIFT-COFB, an‎d Romulus. It also talks about the trade-offs between latency, throughput, an‎d power use when implementing it, an‎d it shows how strong it is against differential an‎d linear cryptanalysis. The conference goes beyond just technical efficiency an‎d talks about how Ascon affects society an‎d industry in secure IoT, healthcare, an‎d industrial systems. It ends by pointing out research shortages in areas including post-quantum resilience, side-channel mitigation, an‎d energy-adaptive cryptography. The seminar collectively introduces Ascon as a balanced, scalable, an‎d future-proof cryptographic stan‎dard for secure, resource-constrained contexts.
