چکيده
Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine continues to attract considerable attention in medicinal chemistry due to its capacity to generate structurally rich derivatives with meaningful biological activity. Throughout this booklet, the fundamental features of this scaffold, its major synthetic routes, and the key elements shaping its structure–activity relationships have been outlined. In addition, a range of established pharmacological applications was reviewed, together with current research trends seeking to refine and expand the therapeutic potential of this heterocyclic framework.
Evidence from contemporary literature highlights that carefully examining how structural modifications influence biological outcomes is central to designing improved drug candidates. Notably, recent approaches emphasize sustainable synthetic methodologies that rely on renewable resources such as lignin, opening new possibilities for constructing novel imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives. These strategies underscore the promising future of this scaffold, which remains a fertile platform for developing innovative compounds with enhanced pharmacological performance.
