چکيده
Abstract
This project involves studying of the most important reservoir characteristics which are porosity and saturation for the Mishrif formation in Halfaya field in the south of Iraq.
Five wells namely (HF-2, HF-3, HF-4, HF-5, and HF-7) are selected to study these reservoir characteristics of the formation.
In this research we will recover porosity and fluid saturation which are the most important reservoir characteristic that include (porosity, permeability, fluid saturation, capillary pressure and wettability).
Petrophysical properties of formation under study were determined using different well logs. Porosities are calculated via (sonic, neutron, and density) logs.
From SP log we find the resistivity of water. and by using Gamma ray log we can know the formation is clean or not.
Calculations of water and hydrocarbon saturations by using Resistivity log show that the Mishrif Formation contains different quantities of water, residual oil, and mobile oil hydrocarbon. Lithology, mineralogy, and matrix of formation are limestone with little dolomite and calcite.
Our calculations doing by using Excel, Techlog and Petrol programs.
The project includes a prediction for the location of oil productive wells in Mishrif formation located in Halfaya field in Al-Amarah city south of Iraq.
In this study we take in concern five wells (HF2, HF3, HF4, and HF5and HF7) by using their data in our work.
Predicting the location of the productive wells by observing the main reservoir characteristics such as porosity and saturation and taking in concern the reservoir unit’s thickness.
The active porosity has been used in this paper which is estimated from density and neutron logs and the saturation that estimated from resistivity logs.
Then the data is inserted to the top surface for each reservoir unit resulting from the techlog program into a software called PETRAL where the field is displayed in the form of reservoir units illustrating the porosity and the hydrocarbon saturation.
