  • چکيده
    The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has exposed significant limitations in traditional network architectures, particularly in terms of scalability, security, flexibility, an‎d Quality of Service (QoS). Software-Defined Networking (SDN) emerges as a promising solution by separating the control an‎d data planes, enabling centralized management, programmability, an‎d global network visibility. This seminar analyzes the evolution of SDN-IoT integration from centralized models to distributed an‎d edge-based architectures, highlighting how hierarchical Edge-SDN frameworks address latency, ban‎dwidth, an‎d management challenges in large-scale IoT deployments. Using a systematic literature review of recent studies (2020–2024), the research identifies key opportunities such as enhanced security enforcement, QoS optimization, network slicing, an‎d improved mobility management. Case studies in smart healthcare an‎d smart grid systems demonstrate measurable improvements in latency, reliability, an‎d resource utilization. Despite these advancements, challenges remain in scalability, interoperability, an‎d energy efficiency. The study concludes that edge-integrated SDN architectures provide a scalable an‎d intelligent foundation for next-generation IoT applications.
