Abstract:
Mobile cloud computing is a promising approach to optimize the energy consumption and the efficiency of mobile devices.
By using the storage space and the cloud computing power, this approach improves the capacity of mobile devices in order to run applications.
Recently, due to the important role of energy in environmental pollution and economic costs, green communications have become the center of attention because of their positive impacts on the battery life of mobile devices.
To use cloud computing capabilities, mobile devices should send data to the cloud computing that is called offloading. Nowadays there are some methods to make the best decision for offloading according to network conditions. One of the most important factors in offloading decision optimality is user mobility that can cause failure. Accordingly, this proposal presents a mobility aware idea for offloading decision. This idea can reduce execution time and energy consumption.
In this regard, we overview and categorize some related works based on decision making. Moreover, we categorize some papers which have mobility aware decision. In addition, we proposed a new method that considers the impact of mobility on offloading and improves the optimality of decision. The proposed method decides according to user mobility with the aid of markov chain. Comparing to recent method in this field the implementation and evaluation of the results of the proposed method show that this method has improved the execution time up to 6000 seconds and the energy consumption up to 4000 Jules.
