Abstract:
Historical contexts of cities refer to parts of the city that were built in the past according to the times, nowadays they are consisted of suitable lives quality or not but it has been worth historical identity even possible and necessary maintenance is needed. Light texture of inhabitant’s participation and the use of inappropriate designs for these neighborhoods has led to population needs in these areas not to be sufficient and using this contexts as a mean to avoid disproportionate physical development of the city is reduced. While the old neighborhoods civil comprehensive plan of Isfahan was considered but executive view the positive steps that have been taken in this regard is insufficient or not implemented or not implemented properly. Having no single model in the reconstruction is the main problem of old context. In Isfahan and southern square of historical Naghsh Jahan, consulting engineers presented mitigation and renovation plans for the historical context that parameters such as design flexibility, single architecture details and external places (passing line), roads and accesses and altitude systematic and quality of negative spaces needed to have a closer investigation. Attitude prevailing in this study is based on research method of descriptive-analytic. Bentley theory criteria in the study were selected to evaluate the proposals presented for historical context in south square of Naghsh Jahan questionnaires are prepared and for each of these characteristics questions are mentioned. These questionnaires in statistical society among experts and architectures and urban design were broadcast. Based on these findings related strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities for improvement and modernization of the tissue were extracted. It also through using qualitative research methods and Swat techniques explores the historical context of south Naghsh Jahan Square and Atigh Square in Isfahan, So that the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in these two tissues obtained to be a foundation for finding appropriate architectural patterns in historical context in the city of Isfahan.
