In this research, changes in electromagnetic properties of the object like permittivity and permeability under acoustic wave emission are investigated. These changes are monitored in the format of scattering parameters from three aspects_ simulation, theoretical and experimental view. In the simulation part it is shown that the scattering parameters are changed under acoustic emission. Then, these changes are justified in the theory chapter using the electromagnetic and acoustic equations.
In the next step, an experimental set up is implemented to evaluate the simulation results. After that, using this set up, the changes on the scattering parameters of two dielectric objects with different materials are studied. In the next step, a crack is created on each object and the changes on scattering parameters in presence and without presence of the acoustic wave is being tested. It is shown that the changes on scattering parameters in the presence of the acoustic wave is more distinct for the cracked and not cracked sample, and is of better clarity. Therefore, this method can be used for nondestructive evaluation of dielectric materials. It is also shown that the introduced method is of better performance in the objects with more elastic materials.
