In this report DFIGs and BCDFIGs are fully investigated. Also, using the equivalent circuit, modeling and mathematical equations are described. Advantages and disadvantages of both generators have been evaluated in several studies. Some of these researches are analyzed in one part of this report, and the cons and pros of which are highlighted.
Then two control methods, vector control and direct power control (DPC) based on back-stepping algorithm as a method of robust control, are introduced and implemented on BCDFIGs. Despite the many benefits of robust control method, this method has not been implemented on BCDFIGs. In this report, for the first time, this method has been implemented on BCDFIGs and the results are evaluated.
In order to simulate the performance of this generator in faulty conditions, four fault types including network current, rotor current, overvoltage and voltage drop, are applied on BCDFIG controlled by direct power control (DPC) based on back-stepping algorithm, and the results are analysed.
Finally, all topics are wrapped up and a conclusion is presented. Also, some suggestions are made for further investigations.
