In this study, a Simple Adaptive Control method with consideration of damage effects proposed to mitigate the detrimental effects of earthquakes on civil structures. Semi-active control devices (e.g. MR dampers) do not inject mechanical energy into the controlled structure and require low power sources which cause them to be reliable and stable. In recent researches, the lack of research about the possibility of damage occurrence during SAC control is observable. In this study, the amount of stiffness matrix reduction is calculated by wavelet-based methods. The SAC control is implemented to the structures by using the modified stiffness matrix of the structure. In order to evaluate the efficiency of proposed control system, two numerical examples are defined and studied. The first example is a 3-story model linear building and the second example is a 5-story model linear building. These examples are modeled with MATLAB and SIMULINK software. To observe the efficiency of the proposed method SAC result is compared with damaged detection and assessment and without it.
