Abstract
Maintaining technical buildings and specially bridges has always been one of the main challenges in the road and railway network. Since the cost of building bridges is far higher than the cost of maintenance and improvement, then pay attention to the health condition of the existing bridge is very important.
In recent years, the expected performance of the bridges was also higher due to increasing the capacity of roads and railways. In this case, always there are a lot of concern about damage or destruction of bridges.
There are various tests for checking this challenges and make decisions about condition of the bridge structure, such as tests of physical or proof load test.
Update parameters of the reliability of the bridge is the one of the results of these tests can be obtained.
Loading test of the railway bridge at 23th km of tehran-qom railway is one of the proof load test where to the point of entry to the area of treatments of materials to the area of plastic has been progressively loaded.
In this study, first the mean value and standard deviation of the distribution function of the resistance are updated by using the results of this test and then reliability index increased. Can be a better view of life and construction strength against the increasing the load-bearing capacity due to the increasing the structure reliability index value.
Finally, with regard to the updated reliability index value and compare it with the regulations, new decisions can be adopted for continuing serviceability of bridge's life.
New decisions like continue serviceability, restoration of the bridge, rehabilitation of bridges, new plans for maintenance or replace the bridge can be compared with this method.
