Abstract:
Protecting people against rays with high energy is an important section in any device and nuclear system. A basic section in these systems is absorbent materials.The problems caused by traditional absorbents like lid is to be poisonous. Restricted conditions of the operation signify the importance of materials with high ray absorbing property, proportional to the condition. On the other hand, by progression in technology specially in bein reshte ei technology we need to use multi-purpose materials. Using the composites is an approach to produce new absorbents with multiple abilities. In radio medical devices that only a part of the body should be exposed to the ray or in industry, due to motions in some parts of the devices, using laden protectors and concert casts which are tough and inflexible lead to some problems.
In this research flexible none laden absorbents are produced to protect people against X-ray and gamma-ray. Silicon is used as polymer ground and nano particles of tungsten and Bismuth oxide are used ad fillers. Since the polymer ground and nano particles are mixable, the method to process the solvent to prepare the sample was determined.The SEM test to detect morphology, the Tensile test to detect the mechanical properties and the test of determining the attenuating gamma ray were conducted. Results of attenuating the ray show that nano composites have high efficacy. The silicon raber- bismuth oxide with the thickness of 0.215 cm and 0.70 of total weight was able to absorb 82% of photons of amersium source, 6. 1% of photons of the source of Sezum and 3.6% of photon of the cobalt source. The silicon raber- tungsten with the thickness of 0.24 cm and 80% of total weight was able to absorb 89.7% of photon of the amersium source and 9.2% of photons of the sezum source and 5.5% of photons of the cobalt source. The results of tensile test show that adding the filler to the raber-bismoth oxide nano composites silicon leads to reduction in tensile strengthen and increase in Young module. The result of this test related to raber-tengsthan silicon samples show that there are increases in Young module and tensile strengthen. Finally, by using mont carlo code we obtained the simulation for the samples,then compared the results with experimental results. The results of our study verify the experimental results.
