Abstract:
Some of the independent variables that were investigated in this research were measured in data surveys, and some of them were recorded by documents. With regard to the statistical nature of accidents, Poisson and negative binomial was made in this research was calibrating the HSM crash prediction model for two-lane and four- lane rural highways. Also based on the HSM predictive method, the EB method (using observed crashes in crash prediction) was used in this research proposed models, and the HSM model. Then, this research proposed models, and the HSM model were evaluated. The other outcome of this research was refining the HSM roadside hazars rating. As there was no overdispersion observed in crash data, Poisson regression were used. In order to the results of evaluation process, it was observed that proposed models work better than the HSM model. It was also observed that the proposed model with five independent variables including length, AADT, shoulder width, land use, and super elevation variance of horizontal curve works better than other models. But when there are limitations in data collection, the other proposed model with independent variables including length, and AADT would be more useful. The calibration factor of 1.41 was calculated for the HSM crash prediction model.
The increase road safety to be one of the main problems countreis in the transport sector and the economy has become. And hence considerable research in recent years around the world to understand the relationship between the number of accidents, the volume of passing traddic, Profile Hndsymsyr and environmental factors in the model of pre Bynytdad Tsadfatanjam is accepted. The use of predictive models based on precies statistical methods and information obtained ways and accidents Not only in the assessment and management of geometric correction are eddective but also easy and can be checked identify black spots. In this study attempts to examine the role of specific geometric design in road safety and accident prediction model are examind to determine the most appropriate.
