Abstract:
Contemporary housing in spite of more energy consumption and cost in comparison with past valuable samples has been less successful regarding connection with nature, environmental sustainability and making sense of life. In the urban life human connection with the nature and environment has become fragile, while they had been the principles of traditional architecture and today are considered in the field of environmental sustainability. In this thesis, the human connection with nature, the principles of environmental sustainability, characteristics of housing and comparison of these quantitive and qualitative features in old and new houses are investigated. By using this information, it is tried to achieve instructions of sustainable design by connection with nature to recreate the concept of "Life in Iranian housing" in a contemporary house. The research methodology is used research method and analyzes the informations by descriptive method and qualitatively. The design site is considered in the Isfahan, adjacent to the Zayanderood River and its green margins.
