Nowadays, multi-level voltage source inverters have received more and more attention because of their capability in medium and high industrial power applications. High-quality waveform of the output voltage, low electromagnetic interference (EMI), low switching losses, simple implemention and non-requirement of large output filters are of the most important charachteristics of these converters. In recent years, in order to achieve high efficiency and low cost, several multilevel inverters have proposed which reduction of power switches and dc voltage sources have outstanding roles in most of them. The gol of this theis is to present four circuit structures for voltage source multi-level inverters which number of power switchs is reduced by 84.64% compared to cascade structure and also this number is decreased by significant rate compared to DC sources. Moreover, switching pattern for inverter’s switchs is presented using sin PWM and hybrid modulations. Finally, the simulation results have been validated using MATLAB / SIMULINK software.
