Abstract:
Seismic retrofit is very important for the buildings which are not designed and constructed by the newest version of earthquake engineering principles and it becomes more important when we are dealing with public buildings such as schools, emergency facilities etc. Therefore the initial studies and identification of the buildings with the first priority of seismic rehabilitation is very serious and inevitable. In this regard, in the following study, a proposed seismic risk prioritization technique is presented for school building using a multicriteria decision making method. This technique first introduce a hierarchical seismic risk assessment using fuzzy method which is found to be effective after investigation of different multicriteria decision making techniques. Afterwards as a case study, seismic risk prioritization of steel school buildings has been done in which the necessary information for the case study had been got from the Organization for Development, Renovation and Equipping Schools of I.R.Iran (DRES). The purpose of this seismic risk prioritization technique using fuzzy decision making method is to present a coherent and complete structure for identification of the critical buildings of Tehran and it is possible to apply this technique for all kind of buildings in all over the country.
