In the present research , some effective parameters on the properties of YSZ thin layer deposited on NiO-YSZ composite using electrophoretic deposition technique was investigated. An effect was made to study on three set of effective parameters on YSZ electrolyte deposition layer.
In the first set, effective parameters on sintering, microstructure and NiO-YSZ composite porosity, The press pressure and also conductivity of substrate material was investigated.
In the second set , The stability suspension, Zeta potential, solid concentration in suspension, concentration of dispersent, conductivity of suspension, pH and suspension aging were also studied.
Finally In the third set, of parameters The electrophoretic deposition process on the properties of YSZ layer, anode-cathode distance, applied voltage, pulse width, deposition time and duty cycle have been investigated.
In order to study The Adhesion of YSZ to NiO-YSZ composite, half cell waz prepared at The elevated temperature.
Electron and optical microscopic was enployed to characterize The change observed during The course of The present work.
In this research, in order to make a substrate, YSZ:NiO powders with a weight ratio of 60:40 was mixed and starch was Then added by 10%wt of powders, then pre-sintered at a pressure of 50 bar and a temperature of 1200 oC for 3 hours. Proper suspension with YSZ concentration of 10 g/L and iodine dispersive concentration of 0.5 g/L was prepared in ethanol. Anode-cathode distance, voltage, pulse width, total deposition time and duty cycle were determined, at 5 mm, 35 V, 1 ms, 6 min and 50% respectively. Final sintering conditions was carried out 1350 oC and for 4 hour which a thin layer of YSZ forms uniformly and densely on a substrate of NiO-YSZ.
