Abstract:
Considering the importance of water and its role in the formation of civilizations, Review of one of the amazing aquatic structures called aqueduct, It can show the effect of this structure on life formation and survival. On the central plateau of Iran, due to the warm and dry climate, aqueduct has long been used as a solution to exploitation of underground water, including the Gonabad city of Khorasan Razavi. Also linked to the aqueduct, other water structures, such as mills and water reservoirs, icehouses, etc., are known as urban desert texture elements.
By studying the historical evolution of the old texture of Gonabad city and the reasons for its development, it is possible to understand the role of aqueduct as the main factor in the formation and development of this city. In this research, we have tried to use a study of fundamental research, historical documents and field research to provide a plan for organizing of the Qasabeh aqueduct route as a route for tourism as well as for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of one of the three existing mills, to this end, it helped preserve this country's cultural heritage.
