Abstract
Due to the need to increase efficiency and productivity in all organizations, the maintenance issue has become more valuable.
In past few years, maintenance issues have shown that reliability-centered maintenance is more and more concerned by researchers over the past. Therefore, in this thesis, we consider the implementation of reliability-centered maintenance on Trainsets. Implementing of maintenance based on reliability is to perform the maintenance at the right time, which is similar to controlling device status and performance analysis. The Trainsets Depoes, which are responsible for the maintenance and repair of Trainsets in the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, have always been costly.
Squander and prodigality in the use of spare parts for the maintenance and repair of Trainsets, domestic and foreign procurement of spare parts and equipment with large volumes due to inaccuracies in maintenance and repair, high costs of consumables items such as fuel, oil and etc. due to inaccuracies in storing are some of the cases that cost a lot in the maintenance and repair of Trainsets.
According to the assignment law which must be performed by Iran Railways to assign the maintenance and repair of Trainsets to the private sector, they try to make costs realistic by planning and the management of the private sector, and to avoid waste and unnecessary costs. Reducing costs, increasing work efficiency, providing appropriate services, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction are all part of the main policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.
In this thesis, we have tried to determine the measure of maintenance based on reliability-centered maintenance by the use of existing documents.
What’s more, we will try to analyze the different equipment of the Trainsets, and the process of implementation of the maintenance based on the reliability of them will be implemented step by step.
The first step in this process is in a set of equipment selection, and since the General Directorate of Maintenance of Trainsets has many equipment and agents for achieving its goal (timely transport of passengers), it is not feasible to perform this goal for all equipment.
In this thesis, the list of key functions and functional standards of equipment is examined and these factors are classified based on factors that cause stops or delayed during the journey.
Then, following the results and expert opinions, important issues in Trainsets were summed up to achieve the goal of reducing failures and improving reliability.
