Travel time and density are common criterions which represent the quality of flow in different parts of freeway segments.this parameters represent traffic performance for many audiences, such as transportation engineers, traffic managers, media, passengers, transport-related professions such as travel agencies and etc. Engineers and designers of freeway use travel time, latency and density of vehicles in order to determine the performance of traffic facilitis and improvement projects of urban freeways and road networks. Travel time information can be used in different contexts.for example Travelers can get informations in order to reduce travel costs, avoid exposure to heavy traffic and increase reliability in selecting a route before travel.also traffic manager use Travel time information and traffic congestion in the area, are important indicator for evaluating the performance and quality of service traffic in traffic facilities.
Interchanges are one of the main components of a freeway which effect on travel times and traffic congestions. Travel time and density in different parts of Interchanges such as areas of weaving, merges, diverges and ramps, depends on geometric parametrs such as length, number of lanes, slope, environmental conditions and traffic conditions such as the number of vehicles passing, the share of heavy vehicles and traffic speed.Thus obtaining travel time and density in different parts of interchanges such as weaving, merges, diverges and ramps is important. Due to the lack or deficiency of equipment traffic at Interchanges to measure and collect values for all parameters which effect the travel time and density of traffic simulation in different parts of Interchange in simulation software is used. And based on the output obtained for each model travel time and density are calculated. And finally the two types of neural network and regression equations represent the relationship between various traffic and geometric parameters and travel time and density are obtained.
