Growth of urbanism as a result of industrial revolution caused evacuation in villages by attracting human resources of rural regions. Villages have lost their natural cycles and immigration from rural regions to urban continued till now, so environmental and municipal disorders has been observed. Iran has not been an exception on this matter.
The country’s master plans have been imposed in a top-down approach. This approach results in the same outcome as before. The case study is Pamenar, nearest village to Dez Dam Lake. This thesis presents solutions for self-sufficiency of rural people and attempts to design a sample of self-sufficient rural house as a step toward sustainable villages. These are achieved by investigating best practices which emphasize on the fundamentals of Sustainable development.
study of rural development, showed that ecological village could be an effective way to achieve self-sufficiency. In this research, recognition of social aspects of the village has been investigated through field studies, questionnaires and conversations with rural people. Most of the residents have obsessions about their village and by organizing the village they will not abandon it. Physical recognition has been done by observing different houses. Also, the possibility of executing energy supplying methods have been surveyed by collecting village requirements. Among different methods, biogas energy can satisfy the gas demand of the habitants. Using solar energy, especially in Solar Water Heater has been predicted in the design. Thermal germ has been used in crusts to reduce cooling loads as well.
As a result, we can supply the most routine demands of rural people by relying on natural energies and house gardens. This would be useful for self-sufficient habitat.
