Abstract:
The useing of fertilizer to enrich the agricultural soil is an inseparable part. Due to the high rate of solubility of these fertilizers in water, a considerable part of it penetrates into the lower parts of the soil and is released from the plant. This waste was not economically feasible nor contaminated with the environment. To avoid this waste, various methods have been used, one of the most widely used methods is to use a coating to reduce the solubility of urea in water. In the present work, we used three materials: xanthan gam, alginate and oil coloring agents as coatings and examined the effect of applied coatings and some parameters on the rate of release of urea. The coating was performed using a fluid bed and a dipping method. Using these materials, one, two and three layers of coatings were made. The best result from the three-layer coating was obtained from below; Xanthan gum, alginate and oil color were obtained. The results of the analysis of the release rate of the samples showed that the coating contributes to an increase in the solubility time of the fertilizer by more than 25 days. It is noteworthy that the cost of the coated manure made in this work is almost four times the original fertilizer.
