Screw compressors are positive displacement compressors that with regard to benefits than other industrial compressors, has been used widely in various industries. In this study, to analyze and evaluate the performance of the compressor, the geometric analysis as well as the thermodynamic performance of the compressor has been studied. This study represents an approach to the design of screw compressor rotor profiles with high efficiency design, simulation of operation condition in the compressor and calculation of the geometric characteristics of rotors. To this end, the design equations of the geometry of rotors and the equations governing the performance of compressors, derived and geometrical characteristics required for subsequent analysis was performed. The geometry of rotors and the geometric characteristics of the compressor extracted by computer code that has been developed by the authors and the input data for thermodynamic simulation are calculated. Thermodynamic analysis includes determining changes in temperature and pressure inside the chamber volume, the determination of the leaks and its impact on compressor efficiency and performance of the compressor.
Then, the calculated results are compared with the experiment that show maximum error of 7 percents in simulation results.
