Today’s, using of modified bitumens has been widely spreaded in road constructions. Using of modified bitumins in order to improve the road performances with respect to weather condition of any region is very important. Polymers are one kind of these modifiers. The most commonly used polymer additives used in asphalt mixtures are polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), Styrene-butadiene-blockcopolymer (SBS) and Poly vinyl chloride (PVC) which often require a complex and costly mixing procedure with bitumen. Amorphous poly alpha olefin is one of the polymers that has recently been considered widely and provided remarkable results in bitumen Tests and good stability with bitumin. In this research asphalt mixture made with this modified bitumen has been investigated. For this purpose, the properties of bitumen and asphalt mixtures were investigated by experimental tests including softening point, peneteration degree, module of rupture test, moisture sensitivity using indirect tensile strength test and finally dynamic creep test. Due to better mixing process and stability with bitumen and the results of the tests which has been done, it could be expected that mixtures that are containing this polymer modified bitumen would be an appropriate alternative to mixtures containing other polymer modified bitumins.
