The main idea of this research is to evaluate two common types of isolators in conventional bridge from economical point of view. To achieve this goal, a typical conventional bridge was selected. In this study, Lead rubber and Friction pendulum bearings were utilized separately in the structure for comparison .To implement nonlinear behavior, plastic hinges are dedicated to the substructure. In order to compare the two types of bearings and quantifying their degree of failure, two criteria are considered. First criterion is associated with the curvature of the columns .The related results were obtained by increasing the acceleration of 12 different earthquakes, with and without passive systems on the bridge. The earthquakes had different scales, mechanism and origin. The second criterion is related to the displacement of the column.
For this purpose, similarly, the response of all three modes (Explain these three mode in above lines) of the system was calculated by increasing the accelerated levels of 12 earthquakes. Using regression analysis, the probabilistic parameters of fragility curve were extracted. Finally, cost-benefit analysis was performed for both types of isolators, depending on the environmental conditions and their effectiveness.
