Abstract:
The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the seismic behavior of the coupled steel plate shear wall, taking into account the succession sequence between the steel plate and the link beam . Since the steel shear wall is a relatively new system for the side bearing of the building, there are still some factors, including behavioral factors , Its behavior before and after the nonlinear phase of the steel and the optimum combination of sheet, beam, and more .... are left to research.
In this study, the design of the boundry elements and steel plate in the coupled steel plate shear wall using the American Steel Shear Strip Design Regulations and its instructions with regard to the fixed parameters (system dimensions, sheet thickness, type of joints) Was performed .
For numerical modeling, Abacus software was used and the system designed in this software was modeled. Then, a model was selected for calibration of the model and the results were compared.
The variable parameter, ie, the length of the link beam and its cross section, were assigned to different models, and the order of yielding of the steel plate and the link beam and the yielding sequence were obtained for each variable length link beam. Then, to prove the above results for the constant plate thickness, two thicknesses of the other sheet (5 mm and 3 mm), the models with variable link beam were constructed and one gravity load was applied to one of the models and its results were obtained.
Firstly, the main purpose of the thesis is to determine the interval for the best length of the beam and its cross section with the priority of the succession of the sheet and the link of the link, which is as follows:
〖 1.25 M_p/V_p ≤L〗_lb≤2.2 M_p/V_p
Secondly, the parameters of seismic behavior of each model, including final load capacity, energy depletion, initial hardness, were compared and the average value for each parameter was obtained in that thickness, which indicates the behavior of a highly shaped and very soft This type of system has an effect on the structure during earthquake loading.
Using the results of this thesis, we can use the formula mentioned above in designing the system of lateral bearing steel palte shear wall After designing the boundry elements and the thickness of the steel plate, the best form of the link beam length can be used. If used, the succession sequence will occur correctly in this system.
