Virtualization technology and the ability to share hardware for decreasing costs , increasing security, increasing reliabilityandsystem availability has attracteda lot of attention in these years but aside from these advantages virtualization technology ,have performancechallengesassociatedwith it.Because ofcreated overhead .The service performance of avirtualizedserverenvironmentsmaybeverydifferent fromits performancein thenative environment. As a result, the assessment ofserviceperformanceinvirtualizedenvironmentsandunderstanding thefactorscompromising performancein such environmentsto providehigherquality service, isofgreat importance.Docker and container-based virtualization are generally considered one of The most recent technologies in the virtualization world. Docker is an open source, lightweight and portable platform, which allows developers or administrators to quickly create services and applications to transmit and distribute.
IPmultimediasubsystem(IMS)as theappropriateinfrastructureforprovidingmultimediaservicesin mostthird-generation networks areconsidered. ThissystemisIP basedframeworkthatuses theSIP protocolas asignalingmechanism.IMS multimedia services opportunities, with access and easy to use, reliable and useful, such as voice, video, text, and any combination thereof with or alongside existing services to telecom operators provides.
In this thesis, weevaluate the efficiency ofDockerplatformvirtualizationby launchingIPmultimediasubsystemon this platformanduseits services, examineand finallytocompare it withthe performance of theXenplatformvirtualizationandexaminethephysicalmachine,in this waymay beto see theperformance differencesof variousvirtualizationplatformsandtheoverhead ofvirtualization.
