With the daily increase in the need to transport goods and passengers, motor vehicles are more and more dominant. On the other hand, there are numerous problems, including high fuel consumption, combustion emissions, incomplete combustion and other engine problems that require serious attention to their elimination, and so far, despite extensive research done on internal combustion engines, the results were not desirable.
In this study, we decided to analyze a new type of external combustion engine called reciprocating continuous combustion engine. After studying the literature and benefiting from useful ideas in various articles, the engine was simulated in the GT-power software, which is an advanced 1D engine modeling software used by the major engine design firms, and its performance compared in terms of power and Torque and also the production of pollutants with the same internal combustion engine, which is a 2 stroke K9K diesel engine manufactured by Renault.
After simulating and comparing the results, it has been shown that the performance of the engine compared to its classical engine has increased by 30 percent with even poorer A/F ratio. Also, by changing the mixing ratio of fuel and air and changing the inlet pressure of the manifold, the engine performance exceled in the poor mixing ratio and with double water spraying, the NOx emissions showed a significant reduction, making it possible to reduce the temperature of the fuel chamber and prevent the rapid destruction of the combustion chamber caused by the high temperature and pressure of the combustion gases.
