Abstract:
According to the official statistics, the population of cities is increasing dramatically. For this reason, cities are expanding and caused more complicated problems in city management. In other hand, the old methods are not applicable for this huge amount of interactions in big cities. Consequently, it is necessary to use new technologies instead of old ways. In this research, we want to identify the applications of internet of things in the smart cities. Regarding to the data collection method, it is a qualitative research type. In order to identify the applications of internet of things in the smart cities, we used meta-synthesis method. Firstly, we chose 408 articles and then 49 articles have been selected for the final analysis. Finally, 114 codes (application) have been discovered. With combining and categorizing them, six categories including: management of urban crises, management of urban transportation, management of energy consumption, urban environment protection, noise pollution control in city and providing security in urban space have been built.In order to prioritize the identified applied fields, we first weighted the Sustainable Development Indicators by using Fuzzy-AHP method ،then using the Fuzzy-TOPSIS method to prioritize the applied fields. A total of 14 experts were identified using the available sampling method. Finally, 11 questionnaires were analyzed. According to the results obtained from the overall prioritization process, urban crisis management has the highest priority and, on the other hand, energy management in the city has received the lowest priority.
