Most people on Earth spend most of their daily sitting time sitting. The importance of sitting, the comfort and health of the person when sitting is one of the most important issues in this section.
In this research, by investigating the research background to reduce the contact tension of the person and to examine various factors in the apparent structure and geometric shape of the chair, part of the effective parameters in this problem, including the thickness and inclination of the surface of the seat, should be examined.
In the Abakus finite element simulation software, a three-dimensional model of human thigh with bone has been mapped out that the physical behavior of the Ogden Hyperalesthic body model and rigid bone behavior are assumed. This model is in contact with the chair introduced with the material behavior of hyperfoam. The simulation is in symmetric mode and the model only allows vertical movement. The thickness of the chair is between one to nineteen centimeters and the seat slope in three angular directions up, down and inside at 0.5 to 4.5 degrees.
At the end of this study, it was concluded that by increasing the thickness of the seat, the contact stress of the person decreases. Also, slope and angles on the seat surface generally reduce the comfort of the person, but this slope makes the seat more comfortable for the chair, which is important in some industries, such as the automotive industry.
