City is the Scene of human and the environment interface, and they are constantly interacting with each other. This connection is affected by various factors. Due to the characteristics of contemporary cities, it seems that this interaction has become complex and obscure, and has somehow led to the passivity of the audience. Urban design as an art of place design for people, plays a key role in improving this interaction. While this field cannot evaluate and examine the various dimensions of this relationship alone, it is seeking to solve this problem by referring to various theoretical fields. The present study seeks to answer the following question: How can the interaction between humans and the environment be explained in the context of urban spaces? In this study, in order to clearly understand the relationship between human and the environment, at first, the basic concepts related to the relationship between human and the environment were studied and then this relation was considered in the context of other sciences, including sociology (the study of human as a member of a social group ), Anthropology (human review with a set of aspirations and values), urban law (human review as an active citizen with rights), environmental psychology (studying the relationship between human and his environment), Anthropometry (proportional and scale analysis) Human), architecture and urbanization (the study of the impact of urban space on humans). Investigating the various dimensions of human and environment opens the gateway to the audience centered urban design which requires active participation of people in all stages of design. Accordingly, in this study, for the purpose of collecting information and assessing the status of two types of methods, included direct methods (awareness methods, group interaction, Open-ended methods and brain storming methods) and indirect (counting, mapping, looking for traces, photographing, keeping a diary and Test walks). The results of this research provide a comprehensive model of design qualities that, by taking into account different dimensions of human and environment, helps urban planners to achieve cities for people with the active interaction between human and environment
