Today, the issue of project management is a major challenge for many organizations, and the quality of conducting project management activities has an effective role in the success or failure of projects, because the company's strategic initiatives are often implemented through projects. Subway construction industry plays a significant role in the economy , To naturalize technology ,to provide technical and engineering and research needs and creates many job opportunities in Iran, which is no exception. Therefore, determining the level of maturity of the project management of affiliated contracting companies is important.
This research is of applied type and its nature is descriptive of the case study. The statistical population of this study was limited and selected to and by senior managers, project managers and middle managers of 55 companies.of first rank with active and semi-active projects in areas of Tehran subway construction and cities for assessing. , (1KPM 5)kerzner maturity model. After describing the concepts, the questionnaire in cludes 185 questions of this model was distributed and completed, then the information was collected and analyzed. To determine the priority, the importance of knowledge domains and comparison with the results of the level 1 of the model from the viewpoint of experts and hierarchical analysis also used . The results of the assessment showed that the majority of these companies had a good position to begin on the level 2 of Kerzner, at the level 2 of maturity, 44% of companies had the minimum required score and 44% were in the phase of completion of the initial growth and maturity phases. At the level 5, 21% were on the right path of excellence, 11% of companies had four points in the quantitative and qualitative section, and only 6% reached the level 5 of excellence.It was also found that companies ranked highest in terms of cost, time, and quality management, respectively, and obtained the lowest score in risk management and integration.
