With around 300 sunny days a year, Iran is among the best in the world in terms of solar energy potential. Given the geographic location of Iran and the scattering of villages in the country, the use of solar energy is one of the most important factors to be considered.
Considering the need for the above point, we decided to design a semi-industrial solar power plant to run at Physics Building No. 2. Initially, we examined the geographic characteristics of the site, such as latitude and longitude, the scale and pattern of shadowing of objects around the site, climatic characteristics such as annual radiation and radiation angles and deviations, etc. In this regard, the meteonorm software to examine the conditions the climate and solar radiation characteristics, such as the path of the sun, and the effect of latitude and longitude on solar calculations, were used.
Then, to determine the load and power requirements of the site according to the data recorded in the data logger system and according to the type and amount of load and geographic characteristics of the site type of site such as connected to the network or separately, as well as the use of we specified the storage system.
We continued to design and calculate the system manually according to the guidance of the New Energy Organization of Iran.
Project design and calculation with PVsyst and PV * SOL software were also repeated. In the design of the project, how to arrange the modules, how to arrange the arrays and the number of inverters and other equipment needed in both software, and the results were compared with each other.
