Abstract
Nowadays, the status monitoring has found a special place in the industry in order to observe the instantaneous condition and fault analysis. Regarding the old fleet of Iran Railways and the lack of monitoring systems on the engines and turbochargers of GM locomotives, which received a huge share of the Iranian Railways fleet, and with the research on various failures of the turbocharger EMD645, can designed a system to use the Data from the simulation of an unbalanced fault so that detects failure and its severity, which consequently preventing serious damage to the turbocharger. In this thesis, using the Abaqus software and the unbalanced analysis created in different conditions, the relationship between the unbalanced numbers, vibration amplitude and turbocharger rotation is obtained in the working conditions. Using this relationship and engine operating conditions and algorithmic definition for build a control system, besides the accelerometer sensor, an RPM gauge, and a data logger can monitor the vibrational state of the turbocharger.
